It definitely doesn’t look like the prettiest iPhone case we’ve seen. And we sure hope it gets some bling-bling touch ups when it finally goes on sell. However, the moment you look past its unwieldy, dull looks, you will very much get to appreciate what the Eye can do.
Manufactured by ESTI, an Israel-based startup, the Eye iPhone case adds an extra 5-inch always-on Full-HD AMOLED screen at the back of your iPhone. That extra screen runs a stock version of Android 7.1 Nougat. So literally, it transforms your iPhone to a dual booting smartphone. Even more cool to know, especially for selfie-enthusiasts, is that the Android back-screen uses the powerful back camera of the iPhone as its front-facing camera.
Other extra features this case adds to your iPhone includes a 256GB SD card slot, dual sim slots, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an IR blaster, NFC support, and a 2800 mAh battery with wireless charging support.
Price? Early birds can get it at $95 (standard model) and $129 (4G LTE model) when they pre-order. It is expected to retail at $189 when it ships August this year.
The Eye, currently, is only compatible with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 series.
